Mayo Clinic Alumni Magazine

A magazine redesign is one thing. Keeping it going quarter after quarter, at a high level, for an audience of 25,000 people around the world is another.

When Mayo Clinic's alumni magazine needed a fresh look to match their new visual identity, we presented several design explorations that pushed the brand into something more contemporary. Once the direction was set, I became the ongoing art director on the publication—concepting and directing illustrations, overseeing photoshoots and laying out articles quarterly.

The illustration commissions were some of my favorite parts of the project. Getting to work with artists like Peter Grundy and Federico Gastaldi and figure out how their styles could live inside a healthcare brand was a fun, creative challenge that didn't always have an obvious answer.
